Somethings you may or may not know about me

( I blame Ell)

- I have a scar on the left side of my face from a button when I was 3 and one on my right middle knuckle, from my first use of Tae-Kwon-Do outside of a lesson
-My room is covered in loose bits of paper, all covered in doodles
-These doodles detail about 30+ different plots, stories whatever that I come up with and then discard
-I dislike old people who whine about being old, but I probably will when I get to that age
- All my guitars have names
- I own every foo fighters song ever made
- I have about 10 different hats from different places all over the world, and I wear them constantly
- I have less that 3 dollars on my bank card
-I believe heavily in luck
- People almost allways suspect me of stealing something when I leave a store
- I am incredibly, incredibly self consicous.
- Sometimes I forget that I'm me. It doesn't sink until about a day or so later

- I like coffee

Okay, just some un sorted art work here

Been kind of busy of late, but it seems that the holidays are fast approaching and we will soon be basking in the glory of some new found utopia... for all of two weeks.

So until then, have some artwork

A doodle I edited up and decided to show you. The legs a fair clunky, but beyond that I liked this one a fair bit. The pose was a first, so it's okay that it looks a bit weird :D

Something to do with projects that I'm working on atm

Phew, it's getting harder to start these blogs with " something" :P.
Anyways, I just wanted to list some stuff I really want to work on and give a little bit of detail on it. So, if you know me, you'd know that I don't just draw but I also play music and I'm a interested in doing some sort of movie and some point. So I'm gonna list what I want to acheive in the next few months below here, and give a bit of detail on each of them.

-1) - A Musical called Don't Dance with the Devil

Writing the music with a freind, but I haven't started scripting. Gotta get on to that soon. Basically a pipe dream at the moment, but I really want to write this musical. Basically it revolves around about 6 charecter who have all sold their soul to devil,for various reasons, and are invited to hell by Lucifer himself to try and win their souls back. They must complete various trials or be doomed to hell for an extended sentence. It's not your average musical, as it revolves around more tradgedy and human flaws than say comedy or heart warming romances.
All the charecters are really flawed, and really not exactly the top class of people in the world, more leaning towards the "bottom of the barrel" side of life.

-2)- My band, Rorschach
Currently, we only have two members, but we have a few people we got lined up for other positions and were just working on a couple of songs before we ask them. I'm hoping for this one, because it's something I really want to do. The music is kind of grunge meets heavy rock/classic rock with a bit of other stuff. Basically Nirvana+AC/DC+ Radiohead (hopefully). The name is pronounced raw-shack and is named after the charecter from Watchmen, who is named after the psychological test. So should be fun. Watch this space.

-3)- Zombie Movie
Yes, that's right,I want to make a zombie movie. Well more of a series of short, 10 minute, films about a group of survivours who have to try and make their way to an evac point by the end of the month, before the country is completley blocked off to contain the infection. You standard Zombie fair, with the grizzled war vet, the nerdy sarcastic guy, the girl and the charismatic leader. Thing is, I have no experience with camera work so I'd have to bring someone on board for it, and maybe someone else to help with effects. I'll look into. Also I'm gonna need alot of extras, so should be fun. Contact me @ shade-of-black@hotmail.com if you're interested and live in Adelaide.

Something Special

Hello boys and girls.

Today I would like to talk about something, or someone, really special to me. Recently she's been through some shit no-one wants to go through but has to. I won't say what. But, regardless of how much she denies it, she is brave. Braver than most people I know, myself included. And yeah, she may falter ( we all do) but I will never doubt her for one second. She's got heart.

And, when she's ready for it, I'll be there to hold her up.

She asked me not to get her a birthday present, which most of you would find quite reedonkuless, but I said I wouldn't. Thing is, I already halfway made it. So, as an early birthday present and because she needs some massive cheering up, and I hope this helps.

I was gonna put that on a tee for her, and will if she still wants it.

A Sketch I did TODAY, Just experimenting with clothing ( mostly cloaks, belts, clasps etc). Not particularly happy with the pose, though I like the swords. I'm pretty sure above that it says Assassin in japanese, but probably not :P

The difference between going to and actually doing it

I was gonna do another regular update, ie: The 3 somethings, but I'm ill at the moment, and as you may have noticed, not been doing so much new drawing ( see how the last update was full of oldies? yeah). BUT I have something that I found today, a drawing I did while in Thailand that has been knocking around in my suitcase since then ( about 2 months last count).

I edited it up and now I'm gonna post it here so you can visually enjoy it :).

I personally have no idea whats going on in this pic. I was just doodling action poses and this came out. Still I really like the action lines, the post and the facial expressions, not to mention how it looks after the editing. If you're curious, I just used the burned tool and it came up like this. So screwed if I know how it looks like that now :D

Just a QUICK sketch I did...last week? Yeah that's it. I draw so much now, I can't even remember half the shit I draw. Anyways, I was experimenting with poses. These are not the best ones, but hey, whatever. Thought I'd just do some flat colouring and show it to you guys.

Look I don't even know what this is. Sometimes with me, I come up with ideas for comics,go out and do concept art, scripts, the whole shebang. I only ever end up doing maybe 4 pages. The ones that last longer than that don't last much more than 20, if that. I just haven't found my story yet :D.

So lets kick this off with something I drew

The above is a cast shot of a comic I may or may not do in the future, revolving around 4 adventurers who go on well... adventures. It's should all be good fun. From left to Right, Laurent Pierre De Frei, Lucy Stone, Simon Sawyer and Jack Hughes. The art style is something new to me,and I'm having alot of fun with it. I really enjoy the cascading light, that was really fun to make and I'm definatley going to do it again on other stuff.





Something I coloured

I coloured and inked this image for a freind, who is a far better artist than me, but I digress. I was going for more earthy tones and exprimenting with light pattern, as you can see on the chest. The mist and fog was also something I hadn't tried before,and I think it paid off.
